First Foray into the Classroom.
I’ve always believed that the types of writing exercises I do would really click with high school students. And I finally got my chance to prove it. This fall (2018) I returned to my old alma mater, the University of Toronto Schools. I did two workshops with each graduating class, helping them develop a more personal and expressive form of writing that they could use for their university entrance application essays. I was stunned by the quality of writing the workshops produced and how these young women and men used writing to open the window to their inner world. I look forward to spending much more time in classrooms.
